River’s Edge Media Launches All the Way to Memphis by Suzanne Hudson
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., (June 24, 2014) — River’s Edge Media today announced the launch of All the Way to Memphis, written by Suzanne Hudson. This book is more than a collection of short stories: it’s a trip.
This collection’s strength lies in its trajectory. It trespasses through the southern gothic but does not stall there. It goes on to create a map that transcends the confines of abusive family members and social hierarchies that have long stereotyped the South to arrive at a place familiar to all: the human heart.
“Beginning with ‘The Fall of the Nixon Administration,’ I could not get enough of this fine new collection of short stories,” said Marshall Chapman, singer, songwriter and author of Goodbye, Little Rock and Roller and They Came to Nashville. Chapman said, “Suzanne Hudson writes about what Southerners do when faced with dire circumstances … With pen in hand, Hudson is a tornado looking for a trailer. Look out! You might get blown away.”
Hudson is the author of two literary novels, In a Temple of Trees and In the Dark of the Moon. Her short story collection, Opposable Thumbs, was a finalist for a John Gardner Fiction Book Award. She lives with her husband, author Joe Formichella on Waterhole Branch off Fish River, near Fairhope, Alabama.
Hudson’s work is most often compared to Southern great Larry Brown. The late William Gay wrote that Suzanne Hudson “writes like a fallen angel”.
River’s Edge Media is committed to promising writers, those established or yet to be discovered, to bringing their stories to the page, and those pages into the hands of readers. For wholesale orders, please email us at email@example.com.
